Does anyone have information about a vintage miniature bottle chess set?
Hello, I have a set of 16 miniature bottles in shapes of chess pieces (everything but the pawns, which I don't know if where ever made) They all contain Marsala wine. The black pieces say on them 'Crema Marsala Mandorla Marsala Speciale' and the white pieces say on them 'Crema Marsala All'uvo Marsala Speciale'. All of the bottles are unopened and they have little 'crown' lids on. On alot of them the paint is quite chipped. I have been trying to find info on them on the web but cant find any. If anyone knows anything or can recommend any sites I would be very grateful. When I bought them I was told they were from the 60's. Thank you.
I have never seen anything like this myself but have heard of bottle stoppers that are designed to look like chess pieces. Maybe this could be another avenue for you to explore.
