I have heard there is a plastic that makes it look like etched-glass so you can't see the contents but I have not been able to find it.
For a permanent solution, there is a spray paint that is called WindowFrost. Make sure you are up to doing that, and no drips, etc.

An temporary but long lasting alternative can be found at your craft store or on line - called Gallery Glass. You can get colors or for just the etched glass look, they have an etched glass look that can be applied with a stencil brush (it goes fast, I have done it) and can be removed with a razor blade.
