what is the best strategy book for a class A chess player?
hi, i have been playing chess about 3 years, i am about 1900 uscf, i think i should read a strategy book as my knowledge in that area is pretty insufficient, i have been looking at pachman's unabridged modern chess strategy, silmans books (amateurs mind, reassess books), watsons modern chess strategy, nunn's chess move by move, and a couple of books by euwe, but i am really totally indecisive as to which i should read first, i have read my system and a couple of game collection/biography books but that is all.
Anyway, if you have a different suggestion that would be nice too, thanks for taking the time to answer.
I recommend the following books to be read first among the many good selections:
• "Chess Endings Essential Knowledge" by Yuri Averbakh
• "My System" by Aron Nimzowitsch (that you have already read)
• "Pawn Power in Chess" by Hans Kmoch
• "Ideas Behind the Chess Openings" by Reuben Fine
Those are definitely classics, and it brings you from the endgame to the opening.
