What diameter wood screw should I use?
For maple boards, 1" x 6". (which is really 3/4" x 5.5"). I have #10 screws but they seem to fat. Is there a "best" diameter for hard woods?
if you are joining them at right angles , i wouldnt go less than a #8 ...if its in a dado and not subject to much stress you might get away with a #6...all situations are different so i wouldnt say there was a best size...
